Exploring the Fundraising Cycle

Even if you feel that now is not the right time to ask your constituencies to invest in your organization or fiscally-sponsored project, there are still fundraising activities you can do to keep your biggest fans close. Do you know about the five parts of the fundraising cycle? How do they apply to the work you do / how can we remix them to fit your vision? We’ll think through ways to bring those biggest fans of yours deeper into your work so that you can sustain your project.

Fundraising is a Program

Just as we have programmatic calendars that last a “season” and leverage multiple pieces of the organization to execute, a successful fund development program needs similar infrastructure and resources—staff, time, so that you could be more sure about the ways and time money comes in and can work to spread income expectations throughout the calendar year.

We Got Funded…Now What?

We Got Funded…Now What? is for those who are new to fundraising, grants and the processes in between. Whether you’re an artist or emerging administrator, this course is designed to help you create a plan of action and gain clarity on helpful systems and approaches to managing the tasks that come after you’ve gotten funded. Led by Dr. Sharbreon Plummer, the group will work collaboratively to assess common questions and challenges faced by small teams or individual practitioners when self-managing external funding.
